Swans Gothic city hall Mussels natural style, just celery, onion, and great seafood
Hello everyone,

Sorry that it's been so long. We have been having a great time in Belgium. This will be our 4th and final night here. We have had some great mussels, good beer, and amazing chocolate. Mark's favorite beer is a cherry beer called Liefman's Kriek. Hopefully we will be able to find it in the US. We met another character at a quiet old bar around the corner from our B & B. His name was Danny, and he is the head waiter on a cruise ship that costs 80K per person for a 2 month tour. He taught us some Flemmish, and all about the different kinds of beer that they make in Belgium (there are hundreds and hundreds, more breweries per capita than any other country in the world).

We also have been to several museums and on a brewery tour. We saw paintings by the Flemmish primitive masters, and toured a 15th century mansion that features period furnitures, tapestries, and even a guillotine that they used to execute people in the main square. Today we also went on a boat tour on the canals.

Tomorrow we are heading off to Haarlem in the Netherlands. We'll be there for 3-4 days. We'll see Amsterdam while we're there too. We'll post pictures next time.....

Cheers, Mark and Laurie
