at the train station in Brugge cool painting at Franz Hals - Jan Maydn doll house
We've been in Haarlem for 3 days now and we'll be travelling tomorrow to Berlin. Haarlem is a great little town and 15 minutes away by train to Amsterdam, where we went yesterday and today. In Haarlem we visited the Franz Hals museum and also got some great shoarma sandwiches at the market. In Amsterdam we saw the Van Gogh museum and toured the Heineken Experience at the old Heineken brewery downtown by the museum area. Today we saw the Anne Frank house which was amazing and finished our day by walking through the red light district and having a delicious belgian beer at "In the monkey" an old bar from 1519, where the sailors used to drink and stay when the train station used to be the old harbor. We also discovered Geneve, a grappa like drink (much better, no burn) made in Holland (we tried Loyaal). We are both in good health and in good spirit even though are feet are getting tired and bruised from brick and cobblestones. Tomorrow is a 6 hour ICE train, first class baby! -Mark+Laurie
